Some of the most lavish and jaw-dropping hotels in the world are built for skiers: Michelin-starred chefs, floor-to-ceiling winter-wonderland views, heated pools, award-winning spas, and, of course, the most spectacular slopes on planet earth right outside your front door. From the Swiss and French Alps to the slopes of North America, here’s where we’d love to apres ski this year!

Fairmont Chateau Whistler

The Fairmont Chateau Whistler is the epitome of a winter wonderland ski lodge, designed to look like a French ski lodge (slash castle) with 519 elegant modern-alpine guest rooms and suites, all overlooking the stunning Whistler Valley mountains. The Fairmont Chateau’s spa is can’t-miss, with Eucalyptus steam rooms, outdoor cedar barrel saunas, hot tubs, and a heated lap pool complete with underwater music.

The Aman Le Mélézin

Where: Courchevel, France

This ski-in, ski-out spot is a classic French châteaux-style boutique hotel with just 31 rooms: Each room has a balcony, private hot tub or fireplace, and a team of Ski Butlers to look after your gear in a state-of-the-art ski room, complete with heated boot racks for toasty feet. The Aman Le Mélézin boasts a top-tier sushi restaurant and Japanese-inspired spa, complete with five double treatment rooms.

Tschuggen Grand Hotel

Where: Arosa, Switzerland

Perhaps the most OTT ski lodge on our list, the Tschuggen Grand Hotel is the epitome of ski luxury. For starters, the outside looks like a modern art museum with glass walls and shark fin-like roof line, but the real star here is the heated private mountain railway that’ll transport you straight to the base of Arosa Lenzerheide. The mammoth 5,000-sq-ft mountainside spa covers four floors, including saunas, steam rooms, pools, airy treatment rooms and a meditation room. This hotel even has a hairdresser and cosmetic surgery doctor on staff.

Chalet Alpaca

Where: Meribel, France

Rates: From $43,000 per week

This spectacular ski chalet comes with an in-house chef, a personal chauffeur to escort you to the slopes, and a concierge service to take care of your every need. The chalet itself sleeps 14 people in six bedrooms and includes plenty of over-the-top amenities like a private pool and hot tub, hammam, massage room, library, even a game room with a climbing wall and pinball machines.

LeCrans Hotel and Spa

Where: Mont Blanc, France

This boutique chalet-style French resort sits atop the Crans-Montana ski resort which means you score a downhill run immediately upon clipping into your skis (which, of course are handled by world-class Ski Butlers.) The lodge boasts not only breathtaking alpine views in every direction, but also gorgeously elegant rustic decor, as well as a Michelin-starred restaurant, panoramic heated outdoor pool, sauna and a hammam.

Badrutt’s Palace Hotel

Where: St. Moritz, Switzerland

This elegant 156-room hotel feels like a full-blown castle with its Belle Epoque facade full of towers and turrets. The interior is just as timeless and elegant with arched doorways and windows framing the Swiss Alps outside. There are also 10 restaurants, three bars (including The King’s Social House, the oldest nightclub in Switzerland), a spa accessible via an underground tunnel, and an indoor pool with floor-to-ceiling windows of the mountains outside.
