Red Rock Canyon State Park

Red Rock Canyon State Park has scenic desert cliffs and spectacular rock formations to amaze and delight nature lovers. The park was once home to the Kawaiisu Indians who left evidence of their existence such as petroglyphs.

Camping at Red Rock Canyon State Park

Ricardo Campground offers 50 primitive sites that will accommodate up to 8 people each. Group sites are not available. The campground does not have showers or RV hook-ups. RVs are allowed as long as they are no longer than 30 feet. Quiet hours between 10 PM and 6 AM and generators cannot run between 8 PM and 10 AM.

The campsites are not allowed to be reserved. The camp can fill up quickly on weekends, so visitors are recommended to arrive early.

Amenities at Red Rock Canyon State Park

Campsites have pit toilets, potable water, fire rings, and tables. Firewood can be purchased at the visitor center.

The visitor center is closed during the winter and summer.

Things To Do at Red Rock Canyon State Park

The scenic drive is available all year, but please contact the park to find out the time as it varies depending on the month.
Guided nature hikes and programs around the campfire are available during the spring and fall.

The park is located on Highway 14, near Cantil.
Drive .25 mile west on Abbott Drive.
The turnoff for the park is clearing marked with a sign and easily visible.

The park is open sunrise-sunset for Day-Use. The campground is open 24-hours.
