Good To-Go is a locally owned food company based out of the state of Maine. The company was founded by Jennifer Scism, an accomplished chef. After cooking for 4-star rated restaurants in NY, beating Mario Batali, on theTV Food Network’s show Iron Chef , and traveling all over world to study regional foods, you can be assured she knows how to make great food. After meeting her husband and outdoorsman David the two co-founded Good To-Go and the rest is history.
Currently, Good To-Go makes 4 meals in two different sizes and their goal is to give hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts a meal that makes them say, “wow!” They know how hard it is to get out and experience those scenic views in the great outdoors, so they wanted to make the meals you eat at the end of your journey just as fantastic. Judging by the taste of the Thai Curry and Classic Marinara with Penne, we at 50 Campfires think they’ve succeeded in just that.

Appearance –Â Very nice packaging with a very easy open top. The design is great and each meal is given a different color. When you open up the package the food looks like dehydrated food, but after it’s prepared with the boiling water it looks and tastes really good. It looks like a home cooked meal.
Taste –Â The taste was much better than any other dehydrated meals we’ve had. Since more natural ingredients are used in these Good To-Go meals they taste more authentic. We found the taste and texture of the Thai Curry a little better than the Penne Marinara, but both were well above the standard dehydrated meals we’ve experienced before. One thing is for sure, neither of these meals lacked flavor. The Thai Curry actually had an authentic curry spiciness to it.
Ease of Use –Â Since all you need to do is pour boiling water into the pouch and let it sit for 20 minutes, we can say there isn’t a whole lot of things easier to do. Of course you need to remember to take out the dehydration packets before pouring in the water, but that’s all you need to do.

Value – A 3.4 oz packet will run you $6.75, and a 6.6 oz packet will be $10.75. Shipping adds roughly $8. Currently, any orders over $75 gets free shipping. These meals are on the expensive side due to their all natural ingredients, but the trade off is that you get a great tasting, highly nutritious meal that you can take on long hikes. If taste and nutrition is the most important thing to you than this product is an excellent choice.
