We always tend to make recipes that require few ingredients and little work while we are at the campsite, like these lemon and blueberry cakes made in oranges. Spending half your time preparing meals is not how most people want to spend what is supposed to be a relaxing weekend camping. The salted caramel apple dip only requires 6 ingredients and can be put together in minutes. Using cast iron over the campfire is always suggested as it helps keep an even heat, is meant to hold up to the high temperatures and is super easy to clean when you’re done using it.

- 1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling
- 1 package cream cheese, cut in 1-inch cubes
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ¼ cup caramel sauce
- Apples for dipping
- Over the campfire heat the apple pie filling and cream cheese until melted. Remove from heat and stir in nutmeg, salt and caramel sauce. Garnish with a little cinnamon and extra caramel sauce.
