UCO Tetra Lantern

UCO Tetra Lantern Review

The UCO Tetra Lantern gives you options. It can be a flashlight, lantern or a device to charge your USB equipment. The tiny UCO Tetra packs a punch but is so lightweight you’ll barely know you have it. This handy little lantern is perfect for backpacking or the campsite.

Appearance: Sleek, compact and stylish the UCO Tetra is a sexy looking lantern. The black and aqua lantern glows in the dark, well the power button and base does. Which is fantastic if you’re looking for a light source in the darkness of the night. With the makings of a flashlight on the top and the body of a lantern below the Tetra fits nicely in your hand but can also stand on its own.

Ease Of Use: The UCO Tetra has many bells and whistles but isn’t complicated to use (whew!). This compact device has a single power button that shuffles through settings, a flap that exposes your USB connection, a D-ring for hanging and the ability to slide creating a flashlight or lantern. With the push of a button you receive 170 lumens of light on high and a dimmer glow for low along with the SOS signal. Being that it is super compact, we were impressed that with a fully charged battery the light will last for 5 hours on high and about 120 hours on low.

Functionality: The slider function on the UCO Tetra Lantern is probably the coolest thing about it. Plus the fact that it is so small. When fully opened it is 6.3 inches and when slid closed is only 4.5 inches. So this thing is fitting easily in your camp box or backpack. To use it as a lantern, slide the piece up until it clicks in to place, this will diffuse the Cree LED bulb and can stand upright on its base. If you’re needing a flashlight, slide it all the way down, hold it in your hand and the light will be focused out the top.

But the features don’t stop there – the Tetra Lantern is also equipped with a li-on rechargeable battery that pumps out 2,600 mAh and can charge USB devices. For reference, that would charge your smart phone 1 time. Which is great for a quick weekend trip.

Weight: Coming in at only 4.3 ounces the lantern is about as lightweight as they come for a pretty darn powerful device. It’s perfect to have around the campsite, give to the kids for a bathroom run or attach to your backpack for a dusk hike.

Value: Coming in at $49.99 the UCO Tetra Lantern is a very good price for everything you receive. Just a 2,600 mAh charger is somewhere in the range of $20-$30. So you’re getting a device to charge your equipment and 2 sets of light. We’d say you’re coming out a winner in this deal.
