Lost Hiker Survives 10 Days by Drinking Creek Water From His Boot
First responders rescued Lukas McClish after he got lost while hiking near Big Basin Redwoods State Park, stranded for over a week without survival gear.
McClish, 34, survived with just a flashlight, folding scissors, clothes, and boots. He planned a short hike but spent nine nights and 10 days in the wilderness.
Despite being followed by a mountain lion, McClish felt comfortable, believing it was someone watching over him. He drank water from his boot by waterfalls.
McClish dreamt of food and cried for help as days passed. Rescuers eventually found him shirtless and haggard. His family didn't know where he was, delaying the search.
