Stunned safari tourists watched as a lion received a gift from the heavens. After seeking some shade beneath a tree in Masai Mara, Kenya, the lion was equally stunned when a random gazelle dropped from the tree above him. But why?

Turns out, there was a leopard in the treetops, where it had hauled its kill, a gazelle, before the lion arrived. Safari Obsessions shared its thoughts about what happened in an Instagram post sharing the video.
“Whether out of panic from the lion’s presence or simply a clumsy mistake, the leopard dropped the kill just as the lion settled down under the tree,” Safari Obsessions wrote. “A free meal for the lion, with no effort on its part. The leopard must have uttered all manner of curse words in frustration when this happened! Nature is always full of surprises.”
