Bear Break-in: Burly Burglar Raids California Kitchen

A black bear smelled a Claremont, California family’s dinner after they opened up a vent to air out the house while cooking, and, later that night, it broke in. The bear poked around the kitchen, found something to eat, and then left without disturbing any sleeping humans (and without cleaning up its mess). The family shared home-security camera footage of the bear break in with local news.

The California black bear entered the home around 4 AM, according to homeowner Anju Kapoor and NBC Los Angeles. The Kapoor family shared photos of a torn window screen, which is presumably how the bear got in. Apparently, the bear left a trail of pistachios and a big poop as a thank-you to the family for sharing their snacks.
