A couple on safari in South Africa nearly missed one of the main attractions—a baboon up close and personal. The baboon approached the couple, who were sunbathing in chairs at a resort, and began stealing fruit from a food spread that was set up between them. Incredibly, neither person noticed, since they were both on their phones.

“POV: You are playing Fruit Ninja and completely miss an actual sneaky, fruit ninja,” joked The Today Show in an Instagram post sharing the viral video.
Of course, it’s possible the tourists were reading something very important on their phones when the incident occurred, but most people in the comments section assume they were doom scrolling. Thankfully, an employee had his wits about him and came running onto the scene to scare the animal away.
