Sometimes, a cute animal video is all you need to make the day better. Well, here’s one for you. Trail-cam footage from Providence Mountains State Recreation Area in San Bernardino, California, shows a mule deer mom and her two young fawns. The trio doesn’t need to do much to win hearts.

“’Doe’ not fawn over this video, if you can help it!” wrote Providence Mountains State Recreation Area in an Instagram post sharing the trail-cam video. No one can help it.

You can tell these animals are mule deer thanks to their large, mule-like ears and black-tipped tails. Providence Mountains State Recreation Area says these animals have a sense of smell that’s about 1,000 times stronger than a human’s. When threatened, they do a little move called a “stotting leap,” in which they “bounce off the ground with all four hooves at once to rapidly clear rough terrain and even change directions in mid-air.”
