Matthew Ross recently had a bear cub break into his Aspen, Colorado home, and his video of the incident went viral. Ross says the cub jumped over a fence and came inside via the doggie door. He was able to coax the bear back outside, but not before it tore up some window treatments. Outside, there was the mama bear and several other cubs. The family stayed in Ross’s backyard for about seven hours before finally moving on.

“Unfortunately, the tags in the ears mean that they’ve been moved twice and if the DOW is contacted again, the bears will be euthanized,” Ross wrote in an update posted to Instagram. “It’s been a super dry summer and there is no food for them on the high country.”
Ross says wildlife officials recently caught these bears in his area and transported them 120 miles away, but they came back. He also says he does not plan to be the one who contacts wildlife officials and sentences these bears to euthanasia.
