Last Friday’s afternoon commute was a bit more interesting than usual for a bunch of folks crossing the Golden Gate Bridge—and it was all thanks to a deer. Local San Francisco Bay-area news said the deer caused “a major traffic hassle” as officials tried to get the animal off the bridge safely.

“Oh Deer! Friday’s commute came with an unexpected guest!” wrote abc7newsbayarea in an Instagram post sharing the footage. “A deer was spotted crossing the Golden Gate Bridge on Friday, Jan. 9th. Officials were forced to temporarily shut down the northbound lanes of the bridge, leading to a major traffic hassle as crews worked to keep both drivers and the animal safe.”
