Members of the Mahin family are some of the lucky few who have seen a moose in Kansas. Local KCTV5 news reports that the family had heard a rumor about a moose in town, so they tried to track it down yesterday evening, and they found it. A video of the bull moose—an extremely rare sight in the Sunflower State—is now making the round online.

According to KCTV5, the last known moose in Kansas was reported in 2019. And before that, a moose hadn’t been spotted there since 1989. Wildlife officials are aware of the animal and say it’s been in the area for about a week after traveling south from Nebraska.
