A colony of sea lions created a scene last week in Monterey Bay, California as they created a sea lion avalanche. Thankfully, someone was there to catch it on video. The sea lions were hauled out on shore, which happened to be at a steep angle. Suddenly, a bunch of sea lions at the top of the slope decide to start sliding down toward the water, pushing all the animals below them into the animals below them, and so on.

“Sea Lion avalanche today in Monterey Harbor,” wrote Evan B. of OnlyFins photography and videography in his Instagram post sharing the bizarre video. Evan set the video to a dramatic song, adding humor to the already-ridiculous scene.
The comment section is pretty funny.
“I’ve watched this 27 times,” one person admits.
“The song is making me crack up. I hope they were not hurt,” wrote another.
“I’ve NEVER seen that many on a hill like that,” commented another person. “Amazing!”
Several people mentioned that the smell must be unbearable.
