A coyote family living in the Santa Cruz Mountains of central California hunkered down near a trail camera earlier this year, offering the trail-cam owner some incredible footage, which he shared with his online community. Vishal Subramanyan frequently shares trail-cam videos on Instagram, and he recently posted clips from a week-long period when a coyote mom and her pups were living right by his setup.

“One of my trail camera highlights of this past year was having this coyote family move in for about a week!” wrote Subramanyan in his post. “I’d had this camera out over the course of the last few years in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and it mostly captured bobcats and mountain lions – so having this family come in was pretty unexpected. The pups were so adorable and curious, and it was a treat to watch their antics through my trail camera.”
