Freestyle Belly Flop? Splootathon? We Want to Watch THESE Olympics

The National Park Service (NPS) posts some funny content on social media. A new video shows off some animals and what Olympic-ish events they’d compete in, if such an Olympics existed. (Note: We would definitely watch the National Park Service’s Olympics. It looks awesome.)

The video begins with what appears to be several young bighorn sheep standing in an ascending line on a mountain ridge. “Ready to take our spot on the podium!” the caption reads. Set to the Olympics song, the video then shows photos of animals with the name of a pretend sport overlaid on top.

First, there’s a photo of owl competing in the “Extreme Resting Face” competition. Then, there’s a bear doing a “Freestyle Belly Flop,” followed by a skunk competing in the “Rhythmic Skunk Dancing” event. Finally, there’s a photo of a bear that’s obviously part of the “Splootathon.”

“They’ve trained hard, they’ve pushed themselves to the limit, and they’re ready to their unleash their wild side and show the parks what they’re made of,” NPS says in its Instagram caption.

Which event would be your favorite in this alternative Olympics? The Freestyle Belly Flop sounds like winning entertainment. Humans or bears—we’d watch.
