“Hail to Grazer, Queen of Fat Bear Week!” writes the National Park Service (NPS) on social media, officially crowning Grazer as the winner of Fat Bear Week 2024. Now a two-time Fat Bear Week champion, Grazer has proved she truly is one of the most adaptable and successful grizzly bears in Alaska’s Katmai National Park and Preserve.

Fat Bear Week celebrates Alaskan grizzlies as they fatten up for the winter by eating loads of sockeye salmon caught from Brooks River in Katmai. Participants can watch the bears fish for salmon on livestream and participate in the just-for-fun event by voting for their favorite “fat bear” until there’s a winner.
Grazer clearly stole everyone’s hearts this year, and she also won the 2023 event.
“She’s beauty and she’s grace, she stuffed so much salmon in her face,” NPS wrote in its Instagram post sharing the news. “Grazer’s fur-midable reign continues!”
