A group of people taking a New Year’s Day hike in Colorado spotted a mountain lion near a person lying on the ground. After throwing rocks to scare away the animal, they found the woman was dead. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) officials suspect a mountain lion fatally attacked the solo hiker, making this the first deadly mountain-lion attack in the state since 1999.
