A wildlife photographer captured a beautiful moment in nature on camera and posted the photos to Instagram for the world to enjoy. When a picturesque moose stepped out of a beautiful forest laced with autumn colors, Jared VanderMeer was in the distance with his camera, and the moose seemed to pose for him.

“To some, these photos might look like just another walk in the woods, but for me, moments like this are rare and unforgettable,” VanderMeer wrote in his Instagram caption. “This female moose stepped out of the forest, almost as if she was decorated in fall itself, with the vibrant leaves framing her perfectly.”
VanderMeer says seeing a moose in the wild is always special. It’s never guaranteed, and he says “that’s what makes it magical.”
