Purnell Wool Zip Skirt and Base Layer Leggings Review

Layering is pretty necessary while camping. You know how it goes: you wake up and it’s so chilly out that the mist is still hovering on the lake, so you bundle up. As the sun gets warmer you realize that you have to change or shed a layer. We found a great option for you ladies who want to look sharp and stay just the right temperature.
I got the opportunity to check out Purnell’s base layer leggings and wool zip skirt. It’s a really great combo for chilly morning and temperate daytime wear. The leggings are super comfortable, soft, and fairly stretchy. Another plus is that they’re thick so they’re not see-through but are still breathable. They’re designed to be worn on the go and wick sweat away so you’re comfortable the whole day. You’ve also got multiple patterns to choose from. I got the reindeer ones because let’s be honest, who doesn’t love reindeer print? These leggings are a great base layer to your outfit. They’d be perfect with a long sweater and boots or a wool zip skirt (wink).
The wool zip skirt is fantastic quality. It has a huge flap under the zipper to make sure no cool air gets through. Even though it’s really thick wool it has a rip stop inner lining so it’s not scratchy which is a huge plus. I’ve never had a zip skirt so I was very impressed by how sturdy it was and how easy it is to put on. You just wrap it around yourself, button the inner button, zip it up, and you’re good to go. I guess I assumed the process of getting a skirt on always involved the weird hopping dance, especially if the skirt didn’t have a stretchy waist.
Cons to the two of these items are few but worth mentioning. The skirt is dry clean only, so you’ll want to make sure you don’t sit on someone’s s’more accidentally. The leggings are not super stretchy so you’ll want to make sure you get the right size: too big and it’ll be a little baggy and too small will undoubtedly be uncomfortable.
Overall, this combo from Purnell is pretty awesome and worth checking out! It’s high quality and will definitely keep you cozy this season.
