A red fox kit is having a good time playing around in a video shared by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) on Instagram. It’s adorable. As for what exactly the fox is playing with . . . maybe a leaf? A stick? The wind? Maybe it’s a little bit of all the above.

“We have a Fox News exclusive,” wrote USFWS in its Instagram post sharing the funny video. “This young red fox absolutely loses its mind over a stick, a leaf, or a rock, scientists are still unsure.”
The playful young fox was spotted at the Lake Andes National Wildlife Refuge Complex in South Dakota. Red foxes live throughout the state, and they’re not always red like this one. Red foxes can also have black, brown, or silver fur. Two other fox species live in the state—gray foxes and swift foxes.

“Play is serious business in the wild,” USFWS adds in its post. “For young foxes, it’s how they build the strength, smarts, and reflexes they’ll need to thrive. Also, it’s extremely cute.”
