Sound on: Adorable Mink Family ‘Chirps’ in Denali National Park

Arthur Kampmann captured the adorable moment a mink family passed by him in Alaska’s Denali National Park and Preserve, and the sound the babies make is too cute. Kampmann shared his video to Instagram, encouraging people to turn on their sound so they can hear it, too.

“Mink magic,” Kampmann wrote in his Instagram caption sharing the footage. “Walking the Denali park road this adorable mink family walked by right by us. Sound on for some incredible vocalizations.”

In the video, what appears to be a mother mink and her babies pass through some brush on the side of the road. As they do, they “chirp” excitedly (particularly the babies).

Mink are semi-aquatic mammals that live close to streams, where they hunt fish and small mammals. They’re one of several mid-sized carnivores that live in Denali National Park. Besides mink, there are also including wolverines, American martens, and river otters. The park’s website suggests mink aren’t particularly easy to spot, so Kampmann is lucky to have had this experience.
