Lawmakers say the ProTECT Act would expand the Endangered Species Act by extending protections to animals outside of the United States.

While Republicans say it’s mismanagement and Democrats say it’s budgetary, both agree NPS’s deferred maintenance backlog is a problem.

Lawmakers accused the Parks Service of abusing its authority in a way that “essentially eliminates” commercial air tours over national parks.
