The Mooring Hitch Is A Great Quick Release Knot To Learn

The Mooring Hitch is a nice knot to have in your camping bag of tricks.

There are times when you want a knot that is fairly secure, but not one that is difficult to untie. For example, you might want to tie your canoe to a dock while you run up to grab something or go to the bathroom. It’s also great for temporarily tying your dog to a tree. Maybe you’re pitching a day camp somewhere and want a quick clothesline to dry swimsuits. It can even be used to temporarily hang a hammock, because it is adjustable. Learn the Mooring Hitch and I guarantee you’ll use it. While you’re at it, pick up some 550 lb mil-SPEC paracord.
