Some mysterious bubbles off the coast of Hermosa Beach, California had conspiracy theories flying. Was it extra-terrestrial activity, a submarine, whale farts? What caused a continuous stream of bubbles to appear in just one spot?

Bo Bridges was one of the locals who really wanted to get to the the bottom of the mystery. Bridges flew his drone out to the bubbly spot and hovered over it. It looked even weirder from up close. He shared his photos and videos on social media.

“I posted this yesterday as I’d never seen anything like it,” Bridges wrote in his Instagram post. “At first glance [I] thought it was a massive bait ball and was hoping to see a ton of Blue Fin Tuna popping out of that foam. Lot of guesses but still haven’t gotten to the bottom of it. If anyone knows exactly what’s going on, I’d love to hear more. It would come come and go throughout the late afternoon.”

What Caused the Ocean Bubbles?
Local news took on the case and solved the mystery. Apparently, a crew was cleaning a fiber tube by blowing air through it, causing the bubbles.
