When thinking of things your child might bring into your room, I am sure no one thinks of anything outlandish. The first things that come to my mind are a paper sign for school, their phone to show me something, or maybe even the cold they picked up from a friend. The last thing on my mind would be a live, wild animal. However, that is exactly what this 16-year-old brought into her parents’ bedroom. She walked in with an opossum, and her mother claimed it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary for her.

16-Year-Old Brings An Opossum Into Her Parents’ Bedroom
While the only thing you and I are catching is this year’s newest strain of the flu, this young girl is catching opossums with her bare hands. Brittanii Lehman spoke to PEOPLE about the incident and claimed it is nothing out of the ordinary for her daughter.
Instead, she shared that she has grown accustomed to her daughter catching and bringing wildlife into their home. So, when her daughter came home one night this past November carrying an opossum into her parents’ bedroom, Brittanii did not think much of it.
The mother shared with the outlet that these creatures are a common sight near their home. They “come into our garage nearly every night and steal our cat’s food,” she admitted. Also, she shared that her daughter spotted one taking a snooze on a shelf, so she opted to catch it and bring it in to show her parents – naturally.

Lehman shared a video of the moment that her daughter brought an opossum into their room on TikTok. She captioned the video, “Anyone else’s teenage daughter bring a opossum into your room 10:00 at night?!? No…just me…ok?” The video then showed her daughter standing there, gripping the creature by the back of the neck as she explained where she found it.
Once the poor thing started “slobbering,” the young girl decided to remove it from her parents’ bedroom. Naturally, this video went viral, and the people of the internet had a lot to say. Here are some of the comments left under the video.
