A large black bear got into an unlocked vehicle in Colorado Springs, Colorado, earlier this week, and died after destroying the interior and locking itself inside. No one found the bear for several days.

“Keep vehicles locked/windows closed & rid of trash & food!” urged Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Southeast Region in a post to X. “This [300]lb black bear entered an unlocked car, destroyed the vehicle, and perished . . . undiscovered for days. In the heat.”
