Lions always win, right? Well, maybe not always. We know hippos will chase lions in a river, where the hippos have the advantage, but apparently these fearless mammals will also charge lions on land, if they feel so inclined.

An Instagram account called Latest Sightings – Kruger shared a video of a hippo going after a lion, and it gained a lot of attention online. The hippo/lion squirmish happened outside of Kruger National Park near a town called Malelane in South Africa. Onlookers squeal and shreak with delight and surprise as the hippo tosses the lion like a rag doll.
“Lions lose to hippo!” reads the Instagram post sharing the video. “This happened after the pride had caught a warthog. The lions were all eating when the hippo came storming in. One of them just wasn’t quick enough, and felt the full brunt of the hippo’s attack!”
