Curious Beluga Nuzzles up With Underwater Camera (Video)

A very curious and friendly beluga wanted to check out a visiter’s underwater camera in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada, and the resulting video is delightful. Natural Habitat Adventures shared the footage on its Instagram feed, saying the video is from one of its summertime trips to the region.

In the video, you can hear the beluga’s clicks as it uses echolocation to help it navigate the space and figure out what it’s looking at. The white whale bumps its uniquely bulbous melon (the squishy part of its forehead) on the camera, and explores the strange device with its whole head and face.

The camera person seems completely unintimidated by the marine mammal and does not move away as the beluga continues to come near and bump into the camera.
