‘Accidental Storm Chaser’ Goes Viral for St. Louis Tornado Video

First-person footage of two construction workers getting caught in a tornado and finding shelter inside a truck has gone viral. Alex Hoffman was the person who filmed the video last Friday afternoon as a “historic” tornado ripped through the greater St. Louis, Missouri area, killing several people and damaging countless homes and structures.

“Craziest Friday of my life,” wrote Hoffman in his TikTok post sharing the video. (Nearly 30 million people have viewed it since Friday.) Hoffman and his work partner are clearly in shock as they run into their truck for cover. Hoffman narrates using some choice four-letter words.

“Oh my God! We’re in a tornado!” he exclaims. “We’re literally in a f****ing tornado.”

Some people in the comments section wonder why the men were in the area at all if there was a tornado coming through. Apparently, some tornado sirens in the area didn’t go off like they’re supposed to. Hoffman doesn’t address this in any of his tornado-related TikTok posts, so it’s unclear whether he and his work partner had advance warning about the storm or not.

Hoffman’s TikTok bio now reads: Accidental storm chaser.
