In what some are calling “nature’s game of hide and seek,” baboons cleverly evade lions by hiding right under their noses in a wild video from South Africa. The footage shows lions lounging on some sort of bridge in the MalaMala Game Reserve as baboons climb around the bottom of the structure, just out of sight—and certainly out of reach.

Shannon Wild, a wildlife photographer and videographer, captured the interaction between the monkeys and the ecosystem’s top predators and shared it on Instagram. Her footage attracted over 570,000 views.

Many people in the comments section note that the primates are clever. The lions may have dibs on the best spot on the bridge, but the baboons have managed to also use the space without putting themselves in harm’s way. Several folks comment that the lions must be confused being able to smell the monkeys but not see them. It’s likely the lions fully know the baboons are there; they just couldn’t get to them even if they wanted to.
