According to Türkiye Today, national-park personnel discovered the man’s campsite, which was outside the allowed camping areas, during a routine inspection. When they approached the man asking for identification, he reacted with hostility.

Apparently, the man’s family had declared him missing many years ago, and he was “a state and internationally wanted individual in 2008.” When police officers arrived on the scene, they figured out the man in front of them was legally dead . . . and yet, he was clearly very much alive.
