Woman Opened Her Curtains And Got A Front Row Seat To Bears On Ice

Some people have views of the city, and others get incredible views of wildlife. Whitney Doucet has a view of the latter. One winter morning, she threw back her curtains expecting her same everyday view, but instead she got a front row seat to bears on ice.

One morning in her Massachusetts home, Doucet decided she wanted to let the morning sunlight in, so she threw back her curtains. However, she was greeted by more than just sunlight and a view of the treeline; she also saw a mysterious shadow across the pond.

When speaking with The Dodo about the experience, she admitted that “it was darker than a normal shadow,” so she became intrigued. To her surprise, the shadow was actually an adorable bear, and she was about to have a front row seat to bears on ice.

The young bear stepped boldly onto the ice and crossed the pond with a fierce determination. At times, he almost lost his footing, but he made his way across in the most adorable fashion. When watching the video, this little bear reminded me of how a Corgi runs.

Enjoying The Show

As any wildlife lover would, Doucet decided to stay and enjoy the show. Honestly, nothing was cuter than watching those little paws as they plopped across the ice. Eventually, the young bear crossed the icy pond and successfully made it to the other side.

“What a wonderful way to wake up,” Doucet told The Dodo. I couldn’t agree more. While most of us are waking up to the blaring of an alarm clock and grey winter skies, this woman woke up to her own private wildlife show. Bears on ice, or rather bear on ice, seems like the most wholesome thing to enjoy with your morning coffee.
