Cheryl Rhodes is a hero in the internet’s book, because she rescued a skunk from a glass jar, even though she thought she’d get sprayed. Rhodes says she ignored her husband’s advice when she decided to approach the distressed animal and pull the jar off its head. The skunk did not spray her, and she walked away crying tears of relief that the rescue operation went as planned.

“I found a lil skunk with a glass jar stuck on its head. Against my husband’s advice, I pursued the skunk. I’m still in shock that it let me relieve it without retaliation,” wrote Rhodes in a TikTok post sharing footage of her rescue. “Ain’t smellin like a skunk today!”
“You saved his life. You’re a hero,” wrote one person in the comments section.
“Skunks are so misunderstood! Thank you for helping!” wrote another.
