Kids and grown-ups alike screamed with delight and shock as a herd of elk ran through a field between a high school and a middle school outside of Denver, Colorado. Jayson Luber, a Denver traffic reporter, shared the video on social media, and it has nearly 300,000 views.

“Imagine this scene as you get to school in the morning,” Luber wrote in his Instagram post sharing the funny footage. “This is the Highlands Ranch elk herd running through one of the fields between Rocky Heights Middle and Rock Canyon High schools. You can see some of the students watching this from right there on the field.”
