A trail camera caught some epic photographs of a mountain lion. Not only did the camera get some up close and personal shots, but it caught this sleepy mountain lion taking an adorable nap.

Trail Camera Catches Sleepy Mountain Lion
Dave Kiely, a nature photographer, set up a motion-detecting camera during his trip to Patagonia. While he was expecting to capture some wildlife on the camera, I am sure he never anticipated these incredible shots.
Petapixel shared that ” a fresh guanaco killed attracted nearby South American cougars or pumas.” However, one of them decided to stick around. Not only did he stick around, but he decided to make the camera his best friend.
When speaking to the outlet, Kiley said, “He even slept next to it, rolled over, took a few ‘selfies’ with the motion camera_ like it was no big deal.” Naturally, this would be exciting for any wildlife photographer.
Trail Camera Catches Adorable Moment With Sleepy Mountain Lion
This adorable feline stretched out in front of the camera. Then, it proceeded to take a snooze and was even caught making a big yawn. The photos from the occurrence proved that this sleepy mountain lion is definitely not shy.
Besides being an incredible experience all on its own, something else made this encounter very special. Kiely shared that this particular cougar is “the second-largest male in the Torres del Paine puma population.”
Naturally, Kiely was very satisfied with his success. He shared with the outlet that he often tries out different methods for recording wildlife. However, after seeing the success with this trail camera, he plans on using it again. “I am going back down there again for a winter trip this August,” he shared. “So I will try the motion camera again.”
Additionally, the photographer is thrilled with the positive response that the photos of the sleepy mountain lion have received.
