Karin Wolgast Fürst was able to stay calm and help a deer that became tangled in a metal wire fence. She said she heard the animal’s screams and noticed how her own animals were acting tense. When she found the source of the noise, she ran back to her farm for a tool, and then slowly cut the deer free. She recorded the rescue for her kids, and the video ended up going viral.

“Today when [I] was getting ready to ride one of my horses we heard some animal screaming,” Fürst wrote in her Instagram post sharing the video. “So I went to look and found a poor roe deer all tangled in the metal wire fence. She was stuck tightly around her neck and waist and I could not get her free. So I had to leave her and run back to our farm to find something to be able to cut the wire with. I ran back to her and was able to free her. Luckily I did not see any major injuries on her and I was able to lift her and let her go on the other side of the fence so she could get back [into] the woods.”
