Earlier this month, Guinness World Records announced that a reticulated python has captured the world record for being the “longest verifiably measured wild snake.” The python is 23 feet and 8 inches—undeniably huge.

Guinness World Records shared footage of the team measuring the snake, which someone discovered in Sulawesi, Indonesia in late 2025. The female python named Ibu Baron (“The Baroness”) is about as long as a two-story house is tall.
