Off the coast of Port Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia, a humpback whale and her calf were swimming wild and free. An aerial photographer saw some activity in the water from her balcony and decided to send up a drone to get a closer look. Turns out, the baby humpback was having a blast—breaching and spinning for nearly a half-hour.

“I quickly got the drone up, braved the territorial butcher bird, and was rewarded with these two beauties,” wrote Linds.living in her Instagram post sharing the drone footage. “This baby was backflipping for over 25mins.”
She notes in a comment reply that her drone was within the legal distance away from whales, and that she used zoom to get this shot.
