Unique Phenomenon Casts ‘Cougar Shadow’ on Arizona Mountain

Every March, a unique shadow appears at a certain spot on the Superstition Mountains in Arizona. The shadow looks a whole lot like a cougar. Of course, you have to be in the right place at the right time to see the setting sun cast a cougar-like shadow across the mountain range. But, like Firefall in Yosemite, some people make a pilgrimage of sorts to see it in person.

“It’s a Valley phenomenon! Each year around this time, the sun casts a rare shadow on the Superstition Mountains that resembles a cougar!” wrote ABC 15 Arizona news in a Facebook post sharing footage of the natural phenomenon.
