Wildlife officials in Connecticut were thrilled to spot a black-bear family made up of a mom bear and her five cubs. Apparently, this is the largest black-bear litter ever observed in the state. Local news shared footage of the family on Instagram.

“A mama bear and record-setting FIVE cubs were spotted in Granby,” wrote NBC Connecticut in the social-media post. “DEEP [Department of Energy & Environmental Protection] confirmed with us that it’s the first sighting of a litter with more than 4 bears to be seen in Connecticut.”
