A wildlife photographer observed a bald eagle trying to provide for its family by raiding heron nest after heron nest in Tennessee. When the eagle tried to raid one nest, though, one dedicated mother heron said, “Nope, not today.”

Jeremy Osgood Wildlife and Nature Photography shared footage of the encounter on Instagram, writing: “After watching this bald eagle raid the great blue heron nests all morning, this mother heron risks her life to protect her young. The other herons fled but she did not. Raw nature unfolding as the bald eagle tries to secure food for 3 young eaglets at Radnor Lake State Park in Nashville.”
