An 83-year-old man, Gerald Guinn, became separated from his friend while they were hiking on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon on Tuesday. Guinn’s loved ones reported him missing, and the National Park Service (NPS) is now reporting that search-and-rescue crews located Guinn the following day. There’s no further information about his condition at this time.

“At approximately 6:30 p.m. on July 22, Gerald Guinn of Kanab, Utah, was located during a helicopter reconnaissance flight approximately 2.5 miles from the point where he was last seen,” wrote NPS in a Facebook post sharing the good news.
The post also says that rescue personnel carried Guinn out on a litter and that medical personnel evaluated him on scene.
