Ankush Jizilwar recently shared what he calls the “most unforgettable tiger sighting” of his life. Jizilwar explains how he and his family were on an evening drive around Tadoba when they came upon a tigress standing in the road. It wasn’t just a tigress, either. It was a tigress and her three darling cubs. They ultimately crossed the road right in front of the family’s vehicle.

“At exactly 7:03 PM, something unbelievable happened,” wrote Jizilwar in his Instagram post sharing the video. “Suddenly, a tigress came out of the tall grass, just a few metres from our car. [. . .] We were completely mesmerized. Just then, her first tiny cub stepped out of the grass. At that exact moment, a biker was unknowingly riding straight towards the tigress. I immediately flashed my headlights to warn him. He noticed the signal just in time and stopped safely. And then came the moment we’ll never forget. One by one, all three cubs came out and followed their mother. Watching [the tigress] walking with her three little cubs, from such a close distance in the wild, was one of the most incredible wildlife experiences my family has ever had.”
