Beloved Dog Leads His Mom To A Crate In The Woods And Ends Up A Hero

Daisy Phillips has had her dog Goose for three years. The pair are inseparable and do many activities together. One of their favorite ways to pass the time is to go on walks. However, when they were out for their everyday walk the other day, something interesting happened. Goose took Daisy down a new path. There, he discovered a crate in the woods, and the beloved dog became a hero.

When speaking to The Dodo, Daisy recounts her experience with Goose that day in the woods. “At first, I didn’t think anything of it,” she admitted to the outlet. She shared that she was not surprised he took a new path at first because “he likes to ‘walk’ me more than I walk him.” She just assumed that Goose had smelled something interesting and decided to take a closer look.

Once they were a little way off the path, Daisy saw what had captured her dog’s interest – a bright pink crate at the bottom of a ditch. At first, she still thought nothing of it. “I thought someone had dumped their trash in the ditch,” she told The Dodo. However, after taking a closer look, she noticed eyes staring back at her.

Goose had led her right to a crate of abandoned kittens. Goose was now the hero dog that these little babies needed. The outlet shared that the poor babies had been “zip-tied shut in that pink cage and left to die in a spot impossible to see from the trail.” Luckily for them, Goose found the crate in the woods with his nose, not his eyes.

An Unfortuante Situation Has A Happy Ending

First, Daisy made a call to her family, who graciously came out to assist with the kittens. Together, they managed to pull the crate out of the deep ditch. Then, they proceeded to give the kittens some food. After the kittens were no longer starving, she called the local animal shelter for further assistance.

The outlet shares that the four kittens were brought to the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center. The center is currently seeking assistance in trying to find whoever was responsible for this heinous act. While they are trying to find those responsible, the cats are said to be recovering.
