“Our girl is back again and she is glowing!” wrote the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) in an Instagram post sharing photos of a moose mom and her rare triplets. The moose mom, also known as Moose 229, is apparently a regular in north Spokane, Washington. She’s never had three babies before, though.

“In 2024, [Moose 229] was seen with one calf. In 2025, she had twins with her! And this year- you guessed it- three calves!” wrote WDFW in the post caption. “Triplets are rare for moose, and caring for three calves takes a lot of energy.”
