Best Things To Do At Lake D’Arbonne State Park

Camp Louisiana had the chance to speak with Lance about the best things to do at Lake D’Arbonne State Park, what the campsites are like and what his favorite thing to do in the park is.

Lance’s Favorite Thing To Do In The Park
Spend time with nature. Walking the trails through the majestic piney woods and going out on the piers to observe the wondrous lake.

Lance’s Favorite Campsite
A camp site close to the water. I have a passion for the scenic beauty of sunrises and sunsets on the lake. I also know the piers have excellent fishing so I’d want to be close to them for that reason as well.

Lake D’Arbonne State Park is located in the North Central area of the State between Farmerville and Bernice on Hwy 2. (3628 Evergreen Rd. Farmerville, La. 71241) Some of the local attractions are Edgewood Plantation, Scott’s Place Indian Mounds, Military Museum in Ruston La., antique shopping, antique alley in West Monroe, and the Biedenharn Museum & Gardens in Monroe to name a few.

Which one of those is your favorite?
To pick only one to be my favorite is very difficult since I enjoy them all. I really enjoyed the Edgewood Plantation home since it is very close to us but if I have the time I would definitely check out the Biedenharn Museum & Gardens as well as Antique Alley.

What are the campsites/cabins like within the park? Are they more open or secluded?
Campsites and Cabins have some of both secluded and open. Our campsites has sites that are close to the water with fishing piers and boat docks, there are sites more secluded in the piney hills, and the centrally located bathhouse has handicap sites in close proximity. The Cabins and Lodges are also located in the tranquil piney hills and some are in close to the beautiful lake with fishing piers and a covered boat house with electricity.
