While driving through the National Elk Refuge in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, a family had an unexpected experience. A bighorn sheep became particularly interested in the car, gave it a big lick, and then rammed into it, perhaps a little peeved that the car started driving away before it was done.

Liz Petersen Thomas shared the video right before New Year’s Eve, saying she was driving through a large herd of bighorn sheep when it happened. People in the comments are quick to point out that visitors are warned not to let the sheep lick their vehicles, since it can be harmful for them. Thomas says she didn’t want the sheep to break the rules and let the bighorn lick her car, but she also didn’t want to hit it.
