CBS Colorado recently shared viewer footage of a black bear riding on top of a trash truck. Apparently, the bear was inside a dumpster when the trash truck emptied its contents, including the bear. The bear managed to climb out of the back of the trash truck and took a ride before climbing down and being “shoo’d” off by the employee driving the truck. The incident occurred in Castle Rock, Colorado.

Colorado is seeing a lot of bear activity as these animals enter a stage called hyperphagia, which drives them to continue eating as they fatten up for the upcoming winter. A drought across the state has also driven black bears into human areas—even more so than usual.
