Camping in Bellevue State Park
Out of the two units of Bellevue State Park, camping can be done only in the Dyas Unit. It has 46 camping units out of which 31 have electrical connection. Necessities like contemporary restrooms, shower cubicles and sanitary dumping station are also available. You can make reservations online if you are in a mood to do some camping with family and friends.

There is no shortage of amenities either. Once you are in the park, you will run out of time but not out of options. Take your kids to see aquarium display, bird watching, butterfly garden, hiking, fishing and so much more. In addition to- camping, skiing, hunting, trails, jogging, picnic area, day-use lodge and more!
Things To Do in Bellevue State Park
Enjoy picnicking with a view of the Mississippi river; the open spaces are also available for a riverside wedding. Make reservations online for a minimal fee. In the Nelson Unit, many kinds of trails are on offer- one overlooks the river, second passes Indian burial mounds, and third passes through prairie and fourth trail takes you through an old limestone rock mine. In the same unit, plants, animals and geology of Bellevue State Park are on display; it’s called South Bluff Nature Center. It’s open since 1984 and was rebuilt with donated labor and supplies. Before rebuilding, this center was a golf club.
The unique and beautiful Garden Sanctuary of Butterflies has more than a hundred plots that provide food and home to butterflies. You can walk through this enchanting garden and appreciate the beautiful flowers, butterflies and a pond in the center.
In case of emergencies, ATM machine, grocery store, hospital and a motel are also available within a couple of miles from Bellevue State Park.
The off and peak season rate can vary a bit. In peak season (May-September), plan on spending anywhere between $11-$16 for camping and in off season (October and April), the camping rates are between $6-$15, depending on the kind of camp you are looking for. The accommodation charges can be anywhere between $25 to $100, again depends on the type of shelter you want.
